Happy 2008! And with the New Year comes more BCS bowl games!

With the Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl all wrapped up, we've got two big BCS matchups left.

On Thursday, the Kansas Jayhawks have a chance to wrap up a successful season with a win over the Virginia Tech Hokies in the coveted Orange Bowl, then the ,Ohio State Buckeyes get their second-consecutive shot at the national championship versus the LSU Tigers.

All that, plus the NFL playoffskick off this weekend!

The Buckeyes can't hang with the SEC—that’s all Ohio State's been hearing the past few years. And with an 0-8 record versus the conference (including a 41-14 drubbing in the 2006 BCS Championship Game against the Florida Gators) it's hard to argue that point. They are looking to prove they have the speed on offense and defense to hang with any team in the coveted conference.

"We're not looking at last year at all. It's over with. This is a great opportunity for us," linebacker James Laurinaitis told the Associated Press.

Although the oddsmakers aren't on their side (LSU has opened as 4.5-point favorites in the contest) their ATS record certainly is: LSU is 1-7-2 ATS in their last 10 games while Ohio State is 6-4.

The NFL regular season is winding down, which means fantasy football is all but over. But before you hibernate until Sept. 2008, there's still some fun to be had during the playoffs.

After 17 weeks of blood, sweat and pigskin, the NFL playoffs are finally here!

Wild-card weekend kicks off on Saturday with the Redskins at the Seahawks. The 'Skins have been on fire, easily covering four spreads in a row.

Jacksonville will be on the road to play Pittsburgh, and with a 7-1 ATS record in their last eight games, oddsmakers have decided to open them as two-point favorites.

On Sunday, the Giants face the Buccaneers and they're hoping their cover versus New England will give them the confidence to move to the second round.

The wild-card weekend finishes off with the Titans at San Diego. The Titans are hoping Vince Young can return from a quad injury to face the AFC West champions.
